Jörn Holtmeier, general manager of the German Economic Exhibition and Fair Commission (AUMA), said on Wednesday that the situation is very serious. In 2020, 68% of trade fairs planned to be held were cancelled, and 71% in 2021.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the overall economic loss of the exhibition industry has reached 46.2 billion euros. Among them, 21.8 billion euros in 2020 and 24.4 billion euros in 2021. According to AUMA, the losses involved the exhibition organizers themselves and service providers, such as booth construction, agents, hotels, restaurants, taxis, transportation and other industries.
